Alkalizing Your Body
Your PH balance is the single, most crucial piece of the puzzle against all disease and sickness.
pH stands for power of hydrogen, which is a measurement of the hydrogen ion concentration in the body. The total pH scale ranges from 1 to 14, with 7 considered to be neutral.
A pH less than 7 is said to be acidic and solutions with a pH greater than 7 are basic or alkaline. Our ideal pH is slightly alkaline – 7.30 to 7.45.
You can test your pH levels regularly by using a piece of litmus paper in your saliva or urine first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything.
Let’s go back to your science lab in high school. Your teacher dragged out the litmus paper strips and you dunked them in all types of liquids. They turned certain colors.
Now how does this pertain to our bodies?
Our bodies all have a very delicate PH level. 95% of Americans are chronically acidic….and why wouldn’t they be? The majority of the standard American diet are over-processed and filled with harmful ingredients and chemicals.
All of this causes the body to become acidic. Don’t just take my word for it, test it for yourself.
How About Acid Reflux?
I know you know what acid reflux or “acid indigestion” is. Have you tracked when this usually happens?
Yep, It happens right after highly acidic food like cheeseburgers and nachos.
What’s the standard treatment? Normally you would pop something like a TUMS (c) . TUMS is an alkalizer that neutralizes the acid and minimizes the symptoms.

Digestive System – Most digestive disorders, such as indigestion, nausea, bloating, gastric reflux, are symptoms caused by excess acid in the gastric region and not enough alkaline minerals in the intestinal tract.
Circulatory System – Acidity is the principal cause of heart disease. (This is the number 1 KILLER IN WOMEN!)
It is well established that many fats are extremely important and essential for cardiovascular health.
Good fats can actually help heal the inflammation that underlies arteriosclerosis.
When the arteries thicken with plaque it is not as a response to good fats, it is inflammation created by the internal acidic environment
Immune System – Acidic environments are BREEDING GROUNDS!! for anaerobic pathogens whereas the high levels hydrogen of rich body fluids keep bad bacteria inactive.

Respiratory System – When the tissues and organs are overloaded by acidity the transport of oxygen is strangled. This suffocation means the cells cannot breathe properly.
Every cell in our body needs to breathe new oxygen and to clear acidic carbon dioxide to function correctly.
When the ratio of acidity is too high then wastes in the form of mucus and infections and viruses build up in our lungs, which leads to colds, bronchitis, asthma, etc.
Skeletal System – Arthritis is one of the most disabling diseases in developed countries.
The word arthritis means “inflammation of the joint” and is used to describe pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints.
The two main form of arthritis are Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. Both forms are related to pH imbalance and accumulation of acid deposits in the joints and wrists.
Integumentary System – Commonly know as the skin. When the body’s pH is out of balance then the build up of acid causes inflammation and the skin is less able to function as a natural barrier against infection.
As a result, the skin tends to develop lesions and sores open to the surface of the body, and the formation of skin eruptions occur like pimples or rashes.
Nervous System – Acidity weakens the nervous system by depriving it of energy. This is also known as ‘devitalizing’ or ‘enervation’.
It makes the physical, mental, and emotional body weak.
Excretory System – This is also known as the urinary system. It is made up of multiple organs, the main one being the kidneys.

Now that you know exactly how crucial having an acidic PH balance is, you need to know the best ways to alkalize. Alkalize and feel alive!
Can The Coffee: I know, we tend to get a little over-protective over our coffee. But let me explain. Coffee is very, very acidic to the body. One cup a day isn’t going to shut down your whole system, but if you are an avid coffee drinker, drinking 2,3 or even 4 cups a day, you need to cut back to limit the acid in your body. Not only can excessive coffee use cause ulcers, it can also be the reason for many potential diseases I listed above. Feeling sluggish and fatigue is not normal either. You should always have normal, naturally sustained energy throughout the day. A good, alkalized body will help you with this.
Greens: Yup, ya can’t avoid ’em. Those dark green, leafy vegetables. Due to their ability to seriously alkalize the body’s PH levels, they are and will always be your child’s lifeline to health and immune support. For your children, If you have a picky eater, try to hide greens in a fruit smoothie or inside your meat loaf or casserole. You can also invest in a high quality greens powder, add it to your everyday routine and add it into your child’s juice in the morning. Avoid Over-Medication: Avoid overusing antibiotics unless necessary. Antibiotic use compromises gut health and overall wellness and throws our PH balance way, way out of whack.
Avoid Dairy: Hold the cheese! I know this may be tough, but dairy is mucus forming, acidic and very inflammatory to the body. The best functioning immune system has the best chance to work best with no added dairy products. If your immune system is in tip top shape, disease won’t stand a chance.
Limit Refined Sugars: Sugar is the devil for PH balance. It’s the most acidic concoction that you could think of. It highly damages your PH levels, immune system and impairs its defenses against infectious disease. Just ONE teaspoon of sugar suppresses your immune function by 50% for 24-48 hours! Yikes! Stick to natural sugars in moderation, mostly found in fruits.
Choose Your Foods Wisely: All food has an affect on your PH balance. Some foods are very alkaline for your body and others are extremely acidic.
