Disclosure: The Ollie World provided a swaddle for this review. I was not financially compensated and all opinions are my own.
Well, I’m a second-time Mom now, and you would think I have all of the kinks worked out this time around…but I don’t 🙂 The truth is, we never swaddled my first born. We watched the nurses bundle him up like a Chipotle burrito in the hospital, but we just couldn’t replicate it. So we never swaddled, and we never got any sleep.
Fast forward 3 years. My daughter was born this past August, and we gave swaddling another shot.
My inner monologue pretty much went like this.
Fold this way, tuck under that way, slide up this way…. no that’s not right. Fold THAT way, tuck these two pieces THIS way…tuck this bad boy under this way….*[Insert Baby crying crying crying here]*
Oh forget that. We gave up.
I never liked origami much anyway.
Luckily, for the first 4 months, my little Lijana slept sound through the night. Every Mom’s dream come true.
Queue in violins, because then the inevitable 4 month sleep regression hit us like a ton of bricks!
Like a switch, my Midnight Master was getting up 6, 7, 8, 9, 10+ times a night.
Many parents have discovered the calming effect of swaddling their babies, so why couldn’t I? I needed to get over my #swaddlefails and start being proactive!
Instead of lying down and just taking it (Even though I was never lying down) I decided to look further into this whole swaddling game.
My initial search results could have turned into a Dr. Suess book.

Say! What a lot of swaddles there are!
My head was pretty much spinning from all the options.
But then I stumbled upon The Ollie Swaddle. This swaddle genuinely seemed different from all of the rest.
The Ollie Swaddle Highlights
- Designed to decrease fussiness and assist in self calming.
- Improves quality and duration of sleep.
- Elasticity to allow freedom of movement.
- Opening at bottom to allow for diaper changes.
- Made to grow with your baby.
- Custom developed moisture wicking material to reduce overheating.
I’ll admit, my eyes zoned right in to the “Improves quality and duration of sleep” part like an intent hawk circling its poor, innocent prey.
Can you blame me? I’m a sleep deprived Mom!
The super sweet peeps at The Ollie World shipped me right over their wondrous swaddle in baby girl pink.
It came with a very simple instruction pamphlet (Which I didn’t even end up needing after an initial glance over, and that’s a big deal).
I did a test run that day to make sure I was ready for night time. I really couldn’t believe how easy it was to swaddle my little pup! (Not my real pup…wake up, sleepy Mama, WAKE. UP!! 🙂
My daughter is a little big for her age, but she fit the Ollie very nicely. The swaddle is made with room to grow and convenient velcro that is adjustable to fit your baby nice and snug.
The sun was going down, and my Ollie was coming out. I quickly wrapped my baby girl tight, leaving her arms out (Per safety instructions, because she could already roll over) and said nighty night.
Normally, I’m lucky if I get 45 minutes between wake-ups, so I was hoping for at least 2 hours of zZz’s.
My daughter is World’s Lightest Sleeper. If you even breathe too loudly, she will start tossing and turning.
An hour quickly passed by and I went to check on her.
I walked into the room and she was fully asleep. Key word: fully.
She was really out. Even the deal breaking creak in the floor didn’t wake her up. She looked so peaceful and tranquil.
The first night was really a true success. She didn’t sleep straight through the night, but her 10+ times of waking up turned into 3. I also noticed that she was less fussy when waking up. She fell back asleep quicker and tossed and turned much less.
Was it just a fluke? She could’ve just been having a good night, right? Well, the next time we went back at it. Packaging my little girl up in her Ollie.
Different night. Same result.
Less waking, less fussiness, longer periods of tranquility.
The next night? You guessed it. Same story.
We were both waking up much happier and well rested.
Although we were a bit late in the swaddle with my baby being 5 1/2 months, I think we made up for some lost time quite quickly.
The ideal age for the Ollie swaddle is 0-4 months. If your baby is not yet rolling over, then the swaddle will look more like this:
Not only is the Ollie quick and easy to work with, but it opens up at the bottom for easy diaper changes AND looks super cute too.
Replicating the comfort of Mommy’s womb is no easy task, but I think The Ollie World nailed it with their adorable, functional swaddle.
I give this swaddle 5 stars and highly recommend connecting with the Ollie Fam online to see if The Ollie is the right swaddle for you or a Mom-To-Be in your life. (What a perfect baby shower gift! I wish I had gotten one at mine!)
Thanks for letting me into your world awhile,
Naturally Nicole XO
